Description
DOS is a family of disk-based operating systems for IBM PC compatible computers. The DOS family primarily consists of IBM PC DOS and a rebranded version, Microsoft's MS-DOS, both of which were introduced in 1981. Later compatible systems from other manufacturers include DR-DOS (1988), ROM-DOS (1989), PTS-DOS (1993), and FreeDOS (1998). MS-DOS dominated the IBM PC compatible market between 1981 and 1995.
डॉस DOS :- वास्तव में एक प्रकार का सिस्टम सॉफ्टवेयर है जो कि कंप्यूटर हार्डवेयर और एप्लीकेशन सॉफ्टवेयर के बीच में इंटरफ़ेस का कार्य करता है। ये एक सिंगल यूजर ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम है जो कि माइक्रो कंप्यूटर्स में उपयोग किया जाता था। "डॉस"(DOS) का पूरा नाम डिस्क ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम(Disc Operating System) है क्योंकि इस ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम के ज्यादातर कमांड डिस्क(hard disc or floppy disc) से संबंधित होता था। इस प्रकार की ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम विंडोज़ से पहले के सिस्टम में उपयोग किया जाता था।
