Radiochemistry is the chemistry of radioactive materials, where radioactive isotopes of elements are used to study the properties and chemical reactions of non-radioactive isotopes. Much of radiochemistry deals with the use of radioactivity to study ordinary chemical reactions. This is very different from radiation chemistry where the radiation levels are kept too low to influence the chemistry.

रेडियो-रसायन (रेडियोकैमिस्ट्री) रेडियोधर्मी पदार्थों का रसायन है, जिसमें तत्वों के रेडियोधर्मी समस्थानिकों का उपयोग गैर-रेडियोधर्मी समस्थानिकों के गुणों और रासायनिक अभिक्रियाओं का अध्ययन करने के लिए किया जाता है। जिन तत्त्वों में रेडियोधर्मिता नहीं होती, उन्हें विकिरण रसायन में 'अक्रिय' कहा जाता है क्योंकि ये समस्थानिक अपरिवर्ती (स्टेबल) होते हैं। रेडियो-रसायन में अधिकांशतः रेडियोधर्मिता के उपयोग करके सामान्य रासायनिक अभिक्रियाओं का अध्ययन किया जाता है। यह विकिरण रसायन से बहुत अलग है जहां अभिक्रियाओं को प्रभावित करने के लिए विकिरण का स्तर बहुत कम रखा जाता है।
