The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) with the aim of promoting world peace and security through international cooperation in education, arts, sciences and culture. It has 194 member states and 12 associate members, as well as partners in the non-governmental, intergovernmental and private sector. Headquartered in Paris, France, UNESCO has 53 regional field offices and 199 national commissions.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र शैक्षिक, वैज्ञानिक तथा सांस्कृतिक संगठन (यूनेस्को) संयुक्त राष्ट्र का एक घटक निकाय है। इसका कार्य शिक्षा, प्रकृति तथा समाज विज्ञान, संस्कृति तथा संचार के माध्यम से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति को बढ़ावा देना है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र की इस विशेष संस्था का गठन 16 नवम्बर 1945 को हुआ था। इसका उद्देश्य शिक्षा एवं संस्कृति के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग से शांति एवं सुरक्षा की स्थापना करना है, ताकि संयुक्त राष्ट्र के चार्टर में वर्णित न्याय, कानून का राज, मानवाधिकार एवं मौलिक स्वतंत्रता हेतु वैश्विक सहमति बने।
