Yama, also known as Kala and Dharmaraja, is the Hindu god of death and justice, responsible for the dispensation of law and punishment of sinners in his abode, Naraka. He is often identified with Dharmadeva, the personification of Dharma, though the two deities have different origins and myths.
यमराज हिन्दू धर्म के अनुसार मृत्यु के देवता हैं। इनका उल्लेख वेद में भी आता है। इनकी जुड़वां बहन यमुना (यमी) है। यमराज, महिषवाहन दण्डधर हैं। वे जीवों के शुभाशुभ कर्मों के निर्णायक हैं। वे परम भागवत, बारह भागवताचार्यों में हैं। यमराज दक्षिण दिशा के दिक् पाल कहे जाते हैं और आजकल मृत्यु के देवता माने जाते हैं।
