अपमार्जक ऐसे पृष्‍ठ संक्रियक पदार्थ हैं जिनके तनु विलयन में सफाई करने की क्षमता होती है। ये प्रायः एल्किलबेंजीनसल्फोनेट होते हैं जो साबुन के समान ही होते हैं किन्तु कठोर जल में साबुन से अधिक विलेय होते हैं। अपमार्जक जो कठोर जल में धुलाई का कार्य करता है
