ऐ रसूल तुम काफिरों से कह दो कि अगर वह लोग अब भी अपनी शरारत से बाज़ रहें तो उनके पिछले कुसूर माफ कर दिए जाएं और अगर फिर कहीं पलटें तो यक़ीनन अगलों के तरीक़े गुज़र चुके जो उनकी सज़ा हुई वही इनकी भी होगी

और हमें मौजिज़ात भेजने से किसी चीज़ ने नहीं रोका मगर इसके सिवा कि अगलों ने उन्हें झुठला दिया और हमने क़ौमे समूद को मौजिज़े से ऊँटनी अता की जो हमारी कुदरत की दिखाने वाली थी तो उन लोगों ने उस पर ज़ुल्म किया यहाँ तक कि मार डाला और हम तो मौजिज़े सिर्फ डराने की ग़रज़ से भेजा करते हैं

और उनके क़ब्ल अगलों में से बहुतेरे गुमराह हो चुके

और हमने अगले लोगों को बहुत से पैग़म्बर भेजे थे

क्या हमने अगलों को हलाक नहीं किया

क्या ऐसा नहीं हुआ कि हमने पहलों को विनष्ट किया
And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto them they say we have heard we could if we willed surely say something the like thereof naught is this but fables of the ancients
और ख़ुदा तो सब तदबीरकरने वालों से बेहतर है और जब उनके सामने हमारी आयते पढ़ी जाती हैं तो बोल उठते हैं कि हमने सुना तो लेकिन अगर हम चाहें तो यक़ीनन ऐसा ही क़रार हम भी कह सकते हैं तो बस अगलों के क़िस्से है
Say thou unto those who have disbelieved if they desist that which is past shall be forgiven them and if they return then already gone forth is the dispensation of the ancients
