उनके पहलू बिस्तरों से अलग रहते है कि वे अपने रब को भय और लालसा के साथ पुकारते है, और जो कुछ हमने उन्हें दिया है उसमें से ख़र्च करते है
They replied, 'Hud, you have not brought us any clear evidence and we shall not forsake our deities merely at your behest, nor will we believe in you.
उन्होंने कहा, ' ऐ हूद ! तू हमारे पास कोई स्पष्ट प्रमाण लेकर नहीं आया है। तेरे कहने से हम अपने इष्ट - पूज्यों को नहीं छोड़ सकते और न हम तुझपर ईमान लानेवाले है
We shall draw from every nation a witness and say, 'Produce your evidence.' Then they will know that all reality belongs to Allah and what they used to fabricate will forsake them.
और हम प्रत्येक समुदाय में से एक गवाह निकाल लाएँगे और कहेंगे, ' लाओ अपना प्रमाण। ' तब वे जान लेंगे कि सत्य अल्लाह की ओर से है और जो कुछ वे घड़ते थे, वह सब उनसे गुम होकर रह जाएगा
When a calamity befalls you on the sea, all those whom you invoke forsake you except Him. But when He delivers you safely to the shore you turn away from Him, for man is indeed most thankless.
और जब समन्दर में कभी तुम को कोई तकलीफ पहुँचे तो जिनकी तुम इबादत किया करते थे ग़ायब हो गए मगर बस वही (एक ख़ुदा याद रहता है) उस पर भी जब ख़ुदा ने तुम को छुटकारा देकर खुशकी तक पहुँचा दिया तो फिर तुम इससे मुँह मोड़ बैठे ं और इन्सान बड़ा ही नाशुक्रा है

जब समुद्र में तुम पर कोई आपदा आती है तो उसके सिवा वे सब जिन्हें तुम पुकारते हो, गुम होकर रह जाते है, किन्तु फिर जब वह तुम्हें बचाकर थल पर पहुँचा देता है तो तुम उससे मुँह मोड़ जाते हो। मानव बड़ा ही अकृतज्ञ है

और जब समन्दर में कभी तुम को कोई तकलीफ पहुँचे तो जिनकी तुम इबादत किया करते थे ग़ायब हो गए मगर बस वही (एक ख़ुदा याद रहता है) उस पर भी जब ख़ुदा ने तुम को छुटकारा देकर खुशकी तक पहुँचा दिया तो फिर तुम इससे मुँह मोड़ बैठे ं और इन्सान बड़ा ही नाशुक्रा है

(रात) के वक्त उनके पहलू बिस्तरों से आशना नहीं होते और (अज़ाब के) ख़ौफ और (रहमत की) उम्मीद पर अपने परवरदिगार की इबादत करते हैं और हमने जो कुछ उन्हें अता किया है उसमें से (ख़ुदा की) राह में ख़र्च करते हैं
Who take their religion for an idle sport and a play and this life's world deceives them; so today We forsake them, as they neglected the meeting of this day of theirs and as they denied Our communications.
उनके लिए जिन्होंने अपना धर्म खेल-तमाशा ठहराया और जिन्हें सांसारिक जीवन ने धोखे में डाल दिया, तो आज हम भी उन्हें भुला देंगे, जिस प्रकार वे अपने इस दिन की मुलाक़ात को भूले रहे और हमारी आयतों का इनकार करते रहे
They said O Shu 'aib does your prayer enjoin you that we should forsake what our fathers worshipped or that we should not do what we please with regard to our property Forsooth you are the forbearing the right directing one
वे बोले ऐ शुऐब क्या तेरी नमाज़ तुझे यही सिखाती है कि उन्हें हम छोड़ दें जिन्हें हमारे बाप दादा पूजते आए है या यह कि हम अपने माल का उपभोग अपनी इच्छानुसार न करें बस एक तू ही तो बड़ा सहनशील समझदार रह गया है

उन्होंने कहा ऐ हूद तू हमारे पास कोई स्पष्ट प्रमाण लेकर नहीं आया है तेरे कहने से हम अपने इष्ट पूज्यों को नहीं छोड़ सकते और न हम तुझपर ईमान लानेवाले है
