A larva is a distinct juvenile form many animals undergo before metamorphosis into their next life stage. Animals with indirect development such as insects, amphibians, or cnidarians typically have a larval phase of their life cycle.

कुछ जीवों, जैसे कीट-पतंगो तथा उभयचरों की विकास प्रक्रिया में डिंभ या डिंभक (लारवा) एक अपरिपक्व अवस्था है। डिंभ का रूप रंग उसके व्यस्क रूप से एकदम भिन्न हो सकता है। जैसा कि तितली एवं उसकी डिंभ का होता है। डिंभ में प्रायः कुछ ऐसे अंग पाए जाते हैं जो उसके व्यस्क रूप में नहीं होते हैं।
