ट्रिनीडाड के भारतीय मूल के लोगों के लिए हिंदी सीखना किसी अंजान भाषा को सीखने जैसा ही है। वस्तुस्थिति तो यह है कि जो हिंदी सीख भी लेते हैं, उन्हें भारतीयों के साथ बातचीत करने में अगर हिंदी बोलनी पड़े तो वे संकोची ही नहीं, बल्कि ख़ेदपूर्ण हो जाते हैं।
