Description
ध्वज या झण्डा अथवा पताका सामान्यतः कपड़े का बना एक संकेत है जो प्राय: एक दण्ड के शीर्ष पर लगाया जाता है। यह प्राय: किसी देश, सेना, संस्था अथवा समूह का प्रतीक होता है। सभी राष्ट्रों के अपने अद्वितीय झण्डे हैं जो उस देश के संकेत के रूप में प्रयोग किये जाते हैं। भारत का राष्ट्रीय ध्वज तिरंगा है जो केसरिया, सफ़ेद और हरे रंग की तीन पट्टियों और बीच की सफ़ेद पट्टी पर अशोक चक्र के चिह्नांकन के साथ व्यवहृत होता है। इस प्रकार अशोक चक्र में 24 तिलिया बनाई गई जो 24 घंटे का समय को बतलाती है।
