  1. चित्र । प्रतिमूर्ति । तसवीर । रेखाओं द्बारा आकार आदि का निर्देश ।
  2. बनावट़ । आकृति । शक्ल । ढाँचा । गढ़न । जैसे,—उनका रंग चाहे जैसा हो, पर नक्शा अच्छा है ।
  3. किसी पदार्थ का स्वरूप । आकृति । जैसे,—तुमने छह महीने में ही इस मकान का सारा नक्शा विगा़ड़ दिया ।
  4. चाल ढाल । तरज । ढंग ।
  5. अवस्था । दशा । हाल । जैसे,—(क) आजकल उनका कुछ और हीं नकशा है । (ख) एक ही मुकदमे ने उनका सारा नकशा बिगाड़ दिया ।
  6. किसी घरातल पर बना हुआ वह चित्र जिसमें पृथिवी या खगोल का कोई भाग अपनी स्थिति के अनुसार अथवा और किसी विचार से चित्रित हो । विशेष—साधारणतः पृथिवी या उसके किसी भाग का जो नक्शा होता है उसमें यथास्थान देश, प्रदेश, पर्वत, समु्द्र, नदियाँ, झीलें और नगर आदि दिखलाए जाते हैं । कभी कभी इस बात का ज्ञान कराने के लिये कि अमुक देश में कितना पानी बरसता है, या कौन कौन से अन्नादि उत्पन्न होते हैं अथवा इसी प्रकार की किसी और बात के लिये नक्शे में भिन्न भिन्न स्थानों पर भिन्न भिन्न रंग भी भर दिए जाते हैं । कभी कभी ऐसे न्कशी भी बनाए जाते हैं जिनमें केवल रेल लाइनें, नहरें अथवा इसी प्रकार की ओर चीजें दिखलाई जाती हैं । महाद्विपों आदि के अतिरिक्त छोटे छोटे प्रदेशों और यहाँ तक कि जिलों, तहलीलों और गाँवों तक के नक्शे भी बनते हैं । शहरों या गाँवों आदि के भिन्न भिन्न भागों के ऐसे नक्शे भी बनते है जिनमें यह दिखलाया जाता है कि किस गली या किस सड़क पर कौन कौन से मकान, खँड़हर, अस्तबल या कूएँ आदि हैं । इसी प्रकार खेतों और जीमन आदि के भी नक्शे होते हैं जिनसे यह जाना जाता है कि कौन सा खेत कहाँ है ओर उसको आकृति कैसी हौ । खगोल के चित्रों में इसी प्रकार यह दिखलाया जाता है कि कौन सा तारा किस स्थान पर है ।
