Religion is a range of social-cultural systems, including designated behaviors and practices, morals, beliefs, worldviews, texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, or organizations, that generally relate humanity to supernatural, transcendental, and spiritual elements—although there is no scholarly consensus over what precisely constitutes a religion. Different religions may or may not contain various elements ranging from the divine, sacredness, faith, and a supernatural being or beings.

ধর্ম হলো একাধিক অর্থবাচক একটি শব্দ; সাধারণত এটি দ্বারা সামাজিক-সাংস্কৃতিক ব্যবস্থার একটি পরিসরকে বোঝায়, যার মধ্যে রয়েছে মনোনীত আচরণ ও অনুশীলন, নৈতিকতা, বিশ্বাস, বিশ্বদর্শন, পাঠ্য, পবিত্র স্থান, ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী, নীতিশাস্ত্র বা সংগঠন, যা সাধারণত মানবতাকে অতিপ্রাকৃত, অতীন্দ্রিয় ও আধ্যাত্মিক উপাদানের সাথে সম্পর্কিত করে—যদিও ধর্ম সুনির্দিষ্টভাবে কীসের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত হয় তা নিয়ে পণ্ডিতদের মাঝে কোনো ঐক্যমত নেই। তবে ভারতীয় দর্শনে, ধর্ম বলতে সাধারণত প্রাকৃতিক ও মহাজাগতিক নিয়মের সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ আইন, শৃঙ্খলা, আচরণ, নৈতিক গুণাবলি ও কর্তব্য, অনুশীলন এবং জীবনযাত্রাকে বোঝায়। বিভিন্ন ধর্মে ঐশ্বরিকতা, পবিত্রতা, আধ্যাত্মিক বিশ্বাস ও এক বা একাধিক অতিপ্রাকৃতিক সত্তা থেকে শুরু করে বিভিন্ন উপাদান থাকতে পারে বা নাও থাকতে পারে।
