Fenugreek is an annual plant in the family Fabaceae, with leaves consisting of three small obovate to oblong leaflets. It is cultivated worldwide as a semiarid crop. मेथी(शास्त्रीय नाव: Trigonella foenum-graecum, ट्रिगोनेला फीनम-ग्रासम) ही लेग्युमिनोसी कुळातील वनस्पती आहे. ही पाने व बिया या दोन्ही रूपांत वापरली जाते. मेथीची पाने भाजी म्हणून वापरले जातात. तसेच, मेथीदाणे हे मसाल्याचा पदार्थ म्हणून वापरले जातात. कसुरी मेथी नावाने प्रचलित असलेली वाळवलेली मेथीपाने त्यांच्या सुगंधामुळे विविध पदार्थांत वापरली जातात.मेथीला कडवट चव असते.
