Description
प्राचीन काल भारतीय अस्त्र-शस्त्र विद्या में निपुण थे। उन्होंने अध्यात्म-ज्ञान के साथ-साथ आततियों और दुष्टों के दमन के लिये सभी अस्त्र-शस्त्रों की भी सृष्टि की थी।यह शक्ति धर्म-स्थापना में सहायक होती थी। प्राचीन काल में जिन अस्त्र-शस्त्रों का उपयोग होता था, उनका वर्णन इस प्रकार है-
- अस्त्र उसे कहते हैं, जिसे मन्त्रों के द्वारा दूरी से फेंकते हैं। वे अग्नि, गैस और विद्युत तथा यान्त्रिक उपायों से चलते हैं।
- शस्त्र ख़तरनाक हथियार हैं, जिनके प्रहार से चोट पहुँचती है और मृत्यु होती है। ये हथियार अधिक उपयोग किये जाते हैं।
