మండలం, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, తెలంగాణా రాష్ట్రాలలో ఒక రెవెన్యూ పరిపాలనా, అభివృద్ధి ప్రణాళికా విభాగం.అవిభాజ్య ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో పూర్వం తాలూకా, పంచాయితీ సమితి (బ్లాక్) విభజన ఉండేది. పరిపాలనా సౌలభ్యం కొరకు ఇదివరకటి తాలూకాలను రద్దు చేసి, 1985లో తెలుగు దేశం ప్రభుత్వ పరిపాలనలో, నందమూరి తారక రామారావు ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా ఉన్న సమయంలో ఈ వ్యవస్థకు బదులుగా మండలవిభజన వ్యవస్థను 1985 మే 25న ప్రవేశపెట్టడం జరిగింది. మండలాలు ఇవి బ్లాకు లేదా సమితి కన్నా ఏరియాలో, జనాభాలో కొంచెం చిన్నవిగా ఉండేటట్లు, కొన్ని గ్రామ పంచాయతీలను కలిపి మండలాలుగా విభజించబడ్డాయి.అలాగే జిల్లాని కూడా కొన్నిపట్టణ ప్రాంతపు మండలాలుగా విభజించబడ్డాయి.

It is a subdistrict of the area within a district including the designated populated place that serves as its administrative centre, with possible additional towns, and usually a number of villages. The terms in India have replaced earlier terms, such as pargana (pergunnah) and thana.
