Wool is the textile fiber obtained from sheep and other mammals, especially goats, rabbits, and camelids. The term may also refer to inorganic materials, such as mineral wool and glass wool, that have properties similar to animal wool.

ऊन मूलतः रेशेदार (तंतुमय) प्रोटीन है जो विशेष प्रकार की त्वचा की कोशिकाओं से निकलता है। ऊन पालतू भेड़ों से प्राप्त किया जाता है, किन्तु बकरी, याक आदि अन्य जन्तुओं के बालों से भी ऊन बनाया जा सकता है। कपास के बाद ऊन का सर्वाधिक महत्त्व है। इसके रेशे उष्मा के कुचालक होते हैं।
