अधिनियम केन्द्र में संसद या राज्य में विधानसभा द्वारा पारित किसी विधान को कहते हैं। जब संसद या विधानसभा में किसी विषय को प्रस्तावित करते हैं तो उसे विधेयक या बिल कहते हैं। संसद या विधानसभा की सर्वसम्मति या सर्वाधिक मतों से पारित होने के बाद उस बिल या विधेयक को अधिनियम का दर्जा मिल जाता है।
