তদন্ত(ইংরেজি: Investigation/Enquiry) বলতে সাধারণত কোনো কিছু অনুসন্ধান করা বা খুজে বের করাকে বোঝায়। যে ব্যক্তি বা সংস্থা তদন্ত করে তাকে তদন্তকারী(Investigater) বলা হয়। সাধারণত পুলিশ বা গোয়েন্দারা অপরাধী খুজে বের করতে তদন্ত করেন। এছাড়াও অনেক সময় কোনো বিষয়ে তদন্ত করার জন্য বিশেষ দল বা কমিটি গঠন করা হয়। এদের কাজই হলো তদন্ত করা। যা তদন্ত কমিটি নামে পরিচিত।
