ধারক একটি বৈদ্যুতিক যন্ত্র, যা বর্তনীতে বৈদ্যুতিক শক্তি ও বৈদ্যুতিক আধানের হিসেবে কাজ করে। ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে এটা উচ্চ ও নিম্ন তরঙ্গের জন্য ছাঁকনি (filter) হিসেবেও কাজ করে। পূর্বে একে শীতক বলে অভিহিত করা হত। কারণ প্রথমে বিজ্ঞানীগণ ভেবেছিলেন, ধারকে তড়িৎ একেবারে জমাট বেঁধে যায়। কিন্তু পরে জানা যায় যে এখানে তড়িৎ জমে যায় না; শুধু আধান ও শক্তি সঞ্চিত হয় এবং প্রয়োজনানুযায়ী ব্যবহার করা যায়।
