वाद-विवाद या बहस, किसी विषय पर चर्चा की एक औपचारिक विधि है। वाद-विवाद में दो परस्पर विपरीत विचारों के समर्थक अपना-अपना तर्क रखते हैं और दूसरे के कथनों का खण्डन करने का प्रयत्न करते हैं। वाद-विवाद सार्वजनिक बैठकों में हो सकता है, शैक्षणिक संस्थानों में हो सकता है, विधायी सभाओं में हो सकता है। वाद-विवाद एक औपचारिक चर्चा है जिसमें प्रतिभागियों के अलावा प्रायः एक संचालक होता है और श्रोता होते हैं।

Debate is a process that involves formal discourse, discussion, and oral addresses on a particular topic or collection of topics, often with a moderator and an audience. Modern forms of competitive debate also include rules for participants to discuss and decide upon the framework of the debates.
