A photon is an elementary particle that is a quantum of the electromagnetic field, including electromagnetic radiation such as light and radio waves, and the force carrier for the electromagnetic force. Photons are massless particles that always move at the speed of light measured in vacuum. The photon belongs to the class of boson particles.

प्रकाशाणू वा फोटॉन (इंग्रजी: Photon) हा एक मूलभूत कण आहे. हा प्रकाशाचा व विद्युतचुंबकीय प्रारणाचा अविभाज्य व अत्यल्प मूल्य असलेला एक कण अथवा पुंजकण आहे. फोटॉन विद्युतचूंबकीय बलाचा प्रवाहक आहे. फोटॉनाशी संबंधित असणाऱ्या प्रकाश तरंगाची वारंवारता जर ν असेल, तर फोटॉनाची ऊर्जा hν एवढी असून त्याचा संवेग hν/c एवढा असतो (h = माक्स प्लांक यांचा विश्व स्थिरांक व c = निर्वातातील प्रकाशवेग).
