लौकी एक सब्ज़ी है। इसे "घिया" भी कहा जाता है, हालांकि कद्दू नाम ऐसी अन्य सब्ज़िओं के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है। लौकी का पौधा एक लता होती है जिसपर लौकियाँ फलती हैं। जब फल बढ़ रहा होता है तो इसे सब्ज़ी के रूप में पकाया व खाया जाता है। इस अवस्था में इसका छिलका हरे रंग का और अंदर का गूदा श्वेत होता है। पूरी तरह पकने पर फल भूरा-खाकी हो जाता है और इसका प्रयोग बर्तन बनाने व सितार जैसे वाद्यों के निर्माण में होता है। आकार के अनुसार लौकी मुख्यतः दो प्रकार की होती है- लम्बी बेलनाकार लौकी तथा गोल लौकी।

Calabash, also known as bottle gourd, white-flowered gourd, long melon, birdhouse gourd, New Guinea bean, New Guinea butter bean, Tasmania bean, and opo squash, is a vine grown for its fruit. It can be either harvested young to be consumed as a vegetable, or harvested mature to be dried and used as a utensil, container, or a musical instrument. When it is fresh, the fruit has a light green smooth skin and white flesh.
