पूँजी NOUN

किसी व्यक्ति या समुदाय का ऐसा समस्त धन जिसे वह किसी व्यवसाय या काम में लगा सके । किसी की अधिकारमुक्त वह संपूर्णँ सामग्री या वस्तुएँ जिनका उपयोग वह अपनी आमदनी बढ़ाने में कर सकता हो । निर्वाह की आवश्यकता से अधिक धन या सामग्री । संचित धन । संपत्ति । जमा ।
वह धन या रुपया जो किसी व्यापार या व्यवसाय में लगाया गया हो । वह धन जिससे कोई कारोबार आरंभ किया गया हो या चलता हो । किसी दूकान, कोठी, कारखाने, बैंक आदि की निज की चर या अचर संपत्ति । मूलधन ।
धन । रुपया पैसा । जैसे,—इस समय तुम्हारी जेब में कुछ पूँजी मालूम होती है ।

Description

पूँजी (Capital) साधारणतया उस धनराशि को कहते हैं जिससे कोई व्यापार चलाया जाए। किंतु कंपनी अधिनियम के अंतर्गत इसका अभिप्राय अंशपूँजी से हैं; न कि उधार राशि से, जिसे कभी कभी उधार पूँजी भी कहते हैं। प्रत्येक कंपनी के लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि वह अपने सीमानियम में अंशपूँजी, जिसे रजिस्टर्ड, प्राधिकृत अथवा अंकित पूँजी कहते हैं, तथा उसके निश्चित मूल्य के अंशों में विभाजन का उल्लेख करे। प्राधिकृत पूँजी के कुछ भाग को निर्गमित (इशू) किया जा सकता है और शेष को आवश्यकतानुसार निर्गमित किया जा सकता है। निर्गमित भाग के अंशों के अंकित मूल्य को निर्गमित पूँजी कहते हैं। जनता जिन अंशों के क्रय के लिए प्रार्थनापात्र दे उनके अंकित मूल्य को प्रार्थित पूँजी तथा अंशधारियों द्वारा जितनी राशि का भुगतान किया जाए उसे दत्तपूँजी कहते हैं।
