लसूण हे कांद्याच्या परिवारातील एक कंदमूळ आहे. कांद्याप्रमाणे कच्च्या लसणाला उग्र वास व चव असते परंतु तो शिजवला असता त्याची चव बदलून गोडसर होते. लसूण हा शब्द मराठीत पुंल्लिंगी आहे, पण लसणाच्या पाकळीला लसणी (स्त्रीलिंगी) म्हणतात.

It was known to ancient Egyptians and has been used as both a food flavoring and a traditional medicine. China produced 73% of the world's supply of garlic in 2021.
