ভোর বলতে বোঝায় দিনের একটি অংশবিশেষ যখন সূর্য উঠতে শুরু করে। ভোর বেলায় সূর্যের উদয়ের সময়ে পরিবেশে মৃদু সূর্যালোক ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। তবে এসময় সূর্য দিগন্তের নিচে অবস্থান করে। ভোড় এবং সূর্যোদয় এক ব্যাপার নয়। সূর্যোদয় হল যখন সূর্যের একাংশ দিগন্তের উপরে চলে আসে এবং তা ধীরে ধীরে পরিষ্কার হয়ে ওঠে। ভোরবেলা সূর্য দেখা না গেলেও সূর্যের অবস্থান কোনদিকে – তা বোঝা যায়।

Dawn is the time that marks the beginning of twilight before sunrise. It is recognized by the appearance of indirect sunlight being scattered in Earth's atmosphere, when the centre of the Sun's disc has reached 18° below the observer's horizon. This morning twilight period will last until sunrise, when direct sunlight outshines the diffused light.
