Liturgy is the customary public ritual of worship performed by a religious group. Liturgy can also be used to refer specifically to public worship by Christians. As a religious phenomenon, liturgy represents a communal response to and participation in the sacred through activities reflecting praise, thanksgiving, remembrance, supplication, or repentance. It forms a basis for establishing a relationship with God.

सामूहिक पूजन किसी धार्मिक समुदाय के लोगों द्वारा अपनी मान्यताओं के अनुसार पारम्परिक व औपचारिक रूप से मंदिर या किसी अन्य सार्वजनिक स्थान पर एकत्रित होकर पूजा समारोह में भाग लेने की क्रिया को कहते हैं। कई धार्मिक सम्प्रदायों में इसका बहुत महत्व होता है। मसलन कैथोलिक ईसाई मत में "मॉस" (mass) प्रचलित है जिसमें अनुयायी किसी गिरजे में सभा बनाकर एक पादरी के नेतृत्व में पूजा करते हैं। इसी तरह आर्य समाज में हवन और अन्य हिन्दू समुदायों में सामूहिक पूजा, भजन व कीर्तन होता है।
