Texas is the most populous state in the South Central region of the United States. It borders Louisiana to the east, Arkansas to the northeast, Oklahoma to the north, New Mexico to the west, and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas to the south and southwest. Texas has a coastline on the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast. Covering 268,596 square miles (695,660 km²), and with over 30 million residents as of 2023, it is the second-largest U.S. state by both area and population.

टेक्सास (Texas) संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका का एक दक्षिणी प्रान्त है। स्थिति : 31 डिग्री 40 मिनट उ. अ. तथा 98 डिग्री 30 मिनट पं॰ दे.। यह संयुक्त राज्य अमरीका के दक्षिणी मध्य राज्यों में से एक राज्य है। इसके पूर्व में लुइज़िऐना (Louisiana) और आरकैनसस (Arkansas), पश्चिम में न्यूमेक्सिको, उत्तर में आरकैनसस तथा ओक्लाहोमा (Oklahoma) तथा दक्षिण में मेक्सिको एवं मेक्सिको की खाड़ी स्थित है। इस राज्य का क्षेत्रफल 2,67,339 वर्ग मील है जिसमें से 3,695 वर्ग मील क्षेत्र जल से घिरा हुआ है। इसकी राजधानी ऑस्टिन (Austin) है।
