- ऋतु । मौसम ।
- समय । काल । जैसे, बोने की फसल, काटने की फसल ।
- शस्य । खेत की उपज । अन्न । जैसे, खेत की फसल ।
- वह अन्न की उपज जो वर्ष के प्रत्येक अयन में होती है । विशेष— अन्न के लिये वर्ष के दो अयन माने गए हैं, खरीफ और रवी । सावन से पूस तक में उत्पन्न होनेवाले अन्नों को खरीफ की फसल कहते हैं और माघ से आषाढ़ तक में उपजनेवाले को रबी की फसल ।
Description
फसल या शस्य किसी समय-चक्र के अनुसार वनस्पतियों या वृक्षों पर मानवों व पालतू पशुओं के उपभोग के लिए उगाकर काटी या तोड़ी जाने वाली पैदावार को कहते हैं। मसलन गेंहू की फ़सल तब तैयार होती है जब उसके दाने पककर पीले से हो जाएँ और उस समय किसी खेत में उग रहे समस्त गेंहू के पौधों को काट लिया जाता है और उनके कणों को अलग कर दिया जाता है। आम की फ़सल में किसी बाग़ के पेड़ों पर आम पकने लगते हैं और, बिना पेड़ों को नुक्सान पहुँचाए, फलों को तोड़कर एकत्रित किया जाता है।
