सत्यं भारतीयसंस्कृतौ मानवजीवनस्य अतीव महत्त्वपूर्णम् अङ्गं मन्यते। प्राचीनः भारतीयः समाजः आचारवान् आसीत् तथा सर्वजनहिताय सत्यानुष्ठाने आग्रही आसीत्। मिथ्यावादिनः जनाः यज्ञाय समुपयुक्ता न भवन्ति । असत्यवादः जलेनाग्नेः सेचनमिवासीत्, सत्यवादनश्च घृतेनाग्नेः सेचनमिवासीत् । असत्यवादिनो जनस्य तेजः शनैः शनैः क्षीणो भवति । सः नित्यपापी भवति । ब्राह्मणकालिकसमाजः पापात्मनः आवर्तनशीलस्वभावेन पूर्णतया परिचितः अासीत् । असौ अजानात् यद्, यो मानवः एकदा पापं करोति, सोऽभ्यासवशेन तदनन्तरं पापान्तरस्यापि आचरणं करोति ।
