Morality is the differentiation of intentions, decisions and actions between those that are distinguished as proper (right) and those that are improper (wrong). Morality can be a body of standards or principles derived from a code of conduct from a particular philosophy, religion or culture, or it can derive from a standard that a person believes should be universal. Morality may also be specifically synonymous with "goodness", "appropriateness" or "rightness".

నీతి వివిధ అర్ధాలున్నాయి.

• నీతి అనగా ప్రవర్తన నియమావళి. ముఖ్యంగా ఏది తప్పు ఏది ఒప్పు అనే విషయంలో తర్కించడానికి, నియంత్రించడానికి ఉపయోగించేది. ఇవి మనుషులు జీవుస్తున్న సంఘం, మతం, కొన్ని వ్యక్తిగత విషయాల మీద ఆధారపడి వుంటుంది. ఉదాహరణకు నీతి నియమాలు ఈ మధ్యకాలంలో క్షీణించాయి.
• నీతి అనగా సాధారణ ఉపయోగంలోని సత్ప్రవర్తన. ఉన్నత ప్రమాణాలు కలిగి ఆచరణ యోగ్యమైన ప్రవర్తన కూడా నీతి అనవచ్చును. దీనిలో తీర్పులు, నిజాలు మొదలైనవి ఉంటాయి. ఉదాహరణకు హత్య చేయడం అవినీతి.

• నీతి అనగా తత్వశాస్త్ర రీత్యా నీతిసూత్రాలు (Ethics).
