वास्तुशास्त्र हे वास्तू बांधण्याचे व वास्तूच्या आजूबाजूला व आतल्या भागात करावयाच्या रचनांचे शास्त्र आहे. वास्तुकला ललितकलाची एक शाखा असून ज्याचे उद्देश्य औद्योगिकीचे सहयोग घेऊन उपयोगिताच्या दृष्टि ने उत्तम भवननिर्माण करने हे आहे.

Historical civilisations are often identified with their surviving architectural achievements.
