वीट हे इमारत बांधकामासाठी वापरायचे एक साहित्य आहे. तिचा वापर भिंतींच्या बांधकामात होतो. पारंपरिकरीत्या वीट म्हणजे लाल मातीपासून बनवून भट्टीत भाजलेला ९ इंच लांब, व ४ इंच रुंद व ३ इंच जाड मापाचा आयताकार घन ठोकळा. पण आजकाल सिमेंटच्या मसाल्याने बांधलेल्या कोणत्याही आयताकार ठोकळ्याला वीट म्हणतात. ही वीट माती, रेती, दगड, कॉक्रीट, औष्णिक विद्युत केंद्रातील राख अथवा चुना यांच्यापासून बनलेलीही असू शकते. विटा या अनेक पदार्थानी, अनेक वर्गीकरणांत, अनेक आकारमानांत व प्रकारांत बनविल्या जातात. या सर्व गोष्टींत स्थानांनुसार व कालावधीनुसार बदल संभवतो. विटांचे दोन मुख्य प्रकार म्हणजे भाजलेल्या व न-भाजलेल्या विटा होय.

A brick is a type of construction material used to build walls, pavements and other elements in masonry construction. Properly, the term brick denotes a unit primarily composed of clay, but is now also used informally to denote units made of other materials or other chemically cured construction blocks. Bricks can be joined using mortar, adhesives or by interlocking. Bricks are usually produced at brickworks in numerous classes, types, materials, and sizes which vary with region, and are produced in bulk quantities.
