An in-joke, also known as an inside joke or a private joke, is a joke with humour that is understandable only to members of an ingroup; that is, people who are in a particular social group, occupation, or other community of shared interest. It is, therefore, an esoteric joke, only humorous to those who are aware of the circumstances behind it.

आपस का मज़ाक ऐसे लतीफ़े या व्यंग्य को कहा जाता है जिसका व्यंग्य केवल उन्हीं लोगों को समझ आये जो किसी विशेष समुदाय, पेशे या अन्य गुट से सम्बन्ध रखते हैं। किसी अन्दर के लतीफ़े को समझने के लिए उस सन्दर्भ की आवश्यकता होती है जो उस समुदाय के पास हो। ऐसे चुटकुले इन समुदायों में जोड़ने में काम आते हैं लेकिन इनकी वजह से अन्य लोग अपने आप को इन समुदायों से बहिष्कृत अनुभव कर सकते हैं।
