किन्तु उनमें से जो अत्याचारी थे उन्होंने, जो कुछ उनसे कहा गया था, उसको उससे भिन्न बात से बदल दिया। अतः जो अत्याचार वे कर रहे थे, उसके कारण हमने आकाश से उनपर यातना भेजी
The wicked amongst them changed what was said for other words. Therefore We sent down upon them from heaven a punishment for their evil doing.
फिर दो दिनों में उनको अर्थात सात आकाश ों को बनाकर पूरा किया और प्रत्येक आकाश में उससे सम्बन्धित आदेश की प्रकाशना कर दी औऱ दुनिया के (निकटवर्ती) आकाश को हमने दीपों से सजाया (रात के यात्रियों के दिशा-निर्देश आदि के लिए) और सुरक्षित करने के उद्देश्य से। यह अत्. न्त प्रभुत्वशाली, सर्वज्ञ का ठहराया हुआ है। '
Then He created several skies in two spans, and ingrained in each sky its function, decking the nearest heaven with lamps, and guarded it. This has been determined by the mighty and all-knowing.
तब हमने मूसलाधार बरसते हुए पानी से आकाश के द्वार खोल दिए;
Then We opened the portals of heaven with water poured out.
अतः सौगन्ध है आकाश और धरती के रब की। निश्चय ही वह सत्य बात है ऐसे ही जैसे तुम बोलते हो
Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [ sure as ] it is that you are speaking.

फिर तू हमपर आकाश को कोई टुकड़ा गिरा दे, यदि तू सच्चा है। '
Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful.
फिर न तो आकाश और धरती ने उनपर विलाप किया और न उन्हें मुहलत ही मिली
Then neither the sky shed tears over them nor the earth. They were granted no respite.
फिर वह आकाश की ओर उन्मुख होकर हाथ हिलाने लगी।
Then she waved her hand towards the sky.
किन्तु उनमें से जो अत्याचारी थे उन्होंने, जो कुछ उनसे कहा गया था, उसको उससे भिन्न बात से बदल दिया। अतः जो अत्याचार वे कर रहे थे, उसके कारण हमने आकाश से उनपर यातना भेजी
Then the evildoers of them substituted a saying other than that which had been said to them; so We sent down upon them wrath out of heaven for their evildoing.
फिर जो बात उनसे कहीं गई थी ज़ालिमों ने उसे दूसरी बात से बदल दिया। अन्ततः ज़ालिमों पर हमने, जो अवज्ञा वे कर रहे थे उसके कारण, आकाश से यातना उतारी
Then the evildoers substituted a saying other than that which had been said to them; so We sent down upon the evildoers wrath out of heaven for their ungodliness.
