और जहाँ से भी तुम निकलों, ' मस्जिदे हराम ' (काबा) की ओर अपना मुँह फेर लिया करो। निस्संदेह यही तुम्हारे रब की ओर से हक़ है। जो कुछ तुम करते हो, अल्लाह उससे बेख़बर नहीं है
Whencesoever you may go out, turn your face towards the Holy Mosque. Indeed it is the truth from your Lord, and Allah is not oblivious of what you do.
जिसके द्वारा अल्लाह उस व्यक्ति को जो उसकी प्रसन्नता का अनुगामी है, सलामती की राहें दिखा रहा है और अपनी अनुज्ञा से ऐसे लोगों को अँधेरों से निकालकर उजाले की ओर ला रहा है और उन्हें सीधे मार्ग पर चला रहा है
Whereby Allah guideth him who seeketh His good pleasure unto paths of peace. He bringeth them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guideth them unto a straight path.
अतः महिमा है उसकी, जिसके हाथ में हर चीज़ का पूरा अधिकार है। और उसी की ओर तुम लौटकर जाओगे
Wherefore hallowed be He in whose hand is the governance of everything, and Unto whom ye shall be returned.
अतः धैर्य से काम लो। निश्चय ही अल्लाह का वादा सच्चा है। तो जिस चीज़ की हम उन्हें धमकी दे रहे है उसमें से कुछ यदि हम तुम्हें दिखा दें या हम तुम्हे उठा लें, हर हाल में उन्हें लौटना तो हमारी ही ओर है
Wherefore persevere thou; verily the promise of Allah is true; then whether We let thee see a part of that wherewith We have promised them, or whether We cause thee to die, Unto us they all will be caused to retvtn.
और तकलीफ़ में गिरफ्तार किया ताकि वह लोग (हमारी बारगाह में) गिड़गिड़ाए तो जब उन (के सर) पर हमारा अज़ाब आ खड़ा हुआ तो वह लोग क्यों नहीं गिड़गिड़ाए (कि हम अज़ाब दफा कर देते) मगर उनके दिल तो सख्त हो गए थे ओर उनकी कारस्तानियों को शैतान ने आरास्ता कर दिखाया था (फिर क्योंकर गिड़गिड़ाते)
Wherefore then did they not, when the affliction from us came upon them, humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and the Satan made fair-seeming unto them that which they were wont to do.

इस आत्मविश्वास का कारण उसका सत्य की ओर झुकाव है या और किसी चीज की ओर, यह सोचने-समझने की अवस्था उस समय विनय की नहीं थी।

यद्यपि शांति, अहिंसा तथा अच्छे पड़ोसी की भावना हमारी विदेश नीति के बुनियादी तत्त्व होने चाहिए, परंतु हम ऐसे शत्रुओं की ओर से गाफिल रहने का जोखिम नहीं उठा सकते जो समृद्ध और समतापूर्ण भारत की ओर हमारी प्रगति में बाधा पहुंचाने के लिए किसी भी सीमा तक जा सकते हैं।
While peace, non-violence and good neighbourly intentions should remain the fundamentals of our foreign policy, we cannot afford to be complacent about adversaries who will stop at nothing to disrupt our progress towards a prosperous and equitable India.
स्वतंत्रता के लिए संधर्ष करते हुए भारत ने अपनी समद्ध परम्परा की ओर देखा और उससे सक्रिय प्रेरणा ली।
While struggling for the freedom of the country India looked back towards its own glorious past and derived useful inspiration.
