It may be recalled that Commission had appointed these officers as Special Expenditure Observers on 19th March 2019. Sh Handa would thus be Special Expenditure Observer for Maharashtra and Gujarat while Ms Mahajan will be deployed in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
उल्लेखनीय है कि निर्वाचन आयोग ने इन अधिकारियों को 19 मार्च, 2019 को विशेष व्यय पर्यवेक्षक नियुक्त किया था। अतः श्री हांडा महाराष्ट्र एवं गुजरात के लिए विशेष व्यय पर्यवेक्षक होंगे, जबकि सुश्री महाजन को तमिलनाडु और कर्नाटक में तैनात किया जाएगा।

मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त श्री सुनील अरोड़ा ने ब्रीफिंग सत्र में भाग लेने वाले अधिकारियों से कहा है कि वैसे सभी पर्यवेक्षक आवश्यक रूप से आयोग की आंख और कान हैं लेकिन वरिष्ठ व्यय पर्यवेक्षक चुनाव प्रक्रिया को दूषित करने वाली धन शक्ति की मात्रा के मामले में काफी अधिक भूमिका निभाने वाले हैं।
