किन्तु जब उन्होंने उसको देखा कहने लगे निश्चय ही हम भटक गए है

ऐ रसूल क्या तुमने उन लोगों के हाल पर नज़र नहीं की जिन्हें किताबे ख़ुदा का कुछ हिस्सा दिया गया था और फिर शैतान और बुतों का कलमा पढ़ने लगे और जिन लोगों ने कुफ़्र इख्तेयार किया है उनकी निस्बत कहने लगे कि ये तो ईमान लाने वालों से ज्यादा राहे रास्त पर हैं
Hast thou not seen those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given how they believe in idols and false deities and how they say of those idolaters who disbelieve These are more rightly guided than those who believe
वह लोग कहने लगे कि ऐ मूसा इस मुल्क में तो बड़े ज़बरदस्त सरकश लोग रहते हैं और जब तक वह लोग इसमें से निकल न जाएं हम तो उसमें कभी पॉव भी न रखेंगे हॉ अगर वह लोग ख़ुद इसमें से निकल जाएं तो अलबत्ता हम ज़रूर जाएंगे

कि कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तुम कहने लगो किताब तो केवल हमसे पहले के दो गिरोहों पर उतारी गई थी और हमें तो उनके पढ़ने पढ़ाने की ख़बर तक न थी

तो उनकी क़ौम के चन्द सरदार जो काफिर थे कहने लगे हम तो बेशक तुमको हिमाक़त में मुब्तिला देखते हैं और हम यक़ीनी तुम को झूठा समझते हैं
The chieftains of his people who were disbelieving said Lo we surely see thee in foolishness and lo we deem thee of the liars
तब जिन लोगों को अपनी दौलत दुनिया पर घमन्ड था कहने लगे हम तो जिस पर तुम ईमान लाए हो उसे नहीं मानते
Those who were scornful said Lo in that which ye believe we are disbelievers
सिर्फ करनें वालों को नुत्फे को ज़ाए करते हो उस पर उसकी क़ौम का उसके सिवा और कुछ जवाब नहीं था कि वह आपस में कहने लगे कि उन लोगों को अपनी बस्ती से निकाल बाहर करो क्योंकि ये तो वह लोग हैं जो पाक साफ बनना चाहते हैं
And the answer of his people was only that they said one to another Turn them out of your township They are folk forsooth who keep pure
