फ़िरऔन की क़ौम के सरदार कहने लगे क्या तुम मूसा और उसकी क़ौम को ऐसे ही छोड़ दोगे कि वे ज़मीन में बिगाड़ पैदा करें और वे तुम्हें और तुम्हारे उपास्यों को छोड़ बैठे उसने कहा हम उनके बेटों को बुरी तरह क़त्ल करेंगे और उनकी स्त्रियों को जीवित रखेंगे निश्चय ही हमें उनपर पूर्ण अधिकार प्राप्त है
Some of the Pharaohs people said Will you let Moses and his people destroy the land and disregard you and your gods The Pharaoh said We will kill their sons and leave their women alive they are under our domination
और फिरऔन के लोग मूसा से एक मरतबा कहने लगे कि तुम हम पर जादू करने के लिए चाहे जितनी निशानियाँ लाओ मगर हम तुम पर किसी तरह ईमान नहीं लाएँगें
They said to Moses No matter what miracle you show to bewitch us we will not believe you
वह लोग कहने लगे कि ऐ मूसा क्यों तुम हमारे पास उस वास्ते आए हो कि जिस दीन पर हमने अपने बाप दादाओं को पाया उससे तुम हमे बहका दो और सारी ज़मीन में ही दोनों की बढ़ाई हो और ये लोग तुम दोनों पर ईमान लाने वाले नहीं
They asked Moses Have you come to turn us away from the faith of our fathers and to make yourselves the rulers in the land We shall never accept your faith
वह लोग कहने लगे ऐ सालेह इसके पहले तो तुमसे हमारी उम्मीदें वाबस्ता थी तो क्या अब तुम जिस चीज़ की परसतिश हमारे बाप दादा करते थे उसकी परसतिश से हमें रोकते हो और जिस दीन की तरफ तुम हमें बुलाते हो हम तो उसकी निस्बत ऐसे शक़ में पड़े हैं
They said Salih we had great hope in you before this Do you forbid us to worship that which our fathers had worshipped We are doubtful and uncertain about what you have told us to worship
वह कहने लगी ऐ है क्या अब मै बच्चा जनने बैठॅूगी मैं तो बुढ़िया हूँ और ये मेरे मियॉ भी बूढे है ये तो एक बड़ी ताज्जुब खेज़ बात है
She said Woe is me How can I have a baby when I am barren and my husband is very old This is certainly strange

उनमें से एक कहने वाला बोल उठा कि यूसुफ को जान से तो न मारो हाँ अगर तुमको ऐसा ही करना है तो उसको किसी अन्धे कुएँ में ले जाकर डाल दो कोई राहगीर उसे निकालकर ले जाएगा और तुम्हारा मतलब हासिल हो जाएगा
One of them said Do not kill Joseph but if you must throw him into a dark well so that perhaps some caravan will take him away
वह लोग कहने लगे जब हमारी बड़ी जमाअत है इस पर भी अगर उसको भेड़िया खा जाए तो हम लोग यक़ीनन बड़े घाटा उठाने वाले निकलते ठहरेगें
They said If some wild beast would be able to harm him despite the presence of our strong group it would certainly be a great loss to us
कहने लगे ऐ मेरे बाप हम परस्पर दौड़ में मुक़ाबला करते हुए दूर चले गए और यूसफ़ को हमने अपने सामान के साथ छोड़ दिया था कि इतने में भेड़िया उसे खा गया आप तो हमपर विश्वास करेंगे नहीं यद्यपि हम सच्चे है
and saying Father we went playing and left Joseph with our belongings A wild beast came and devoured him We realize that you will not believe us even though we are telling the truth
और कहने लगे ऐ अब्बा हम लोग तो जाकर दौड़ने लगे और यूसुफ को अपने असबाब के पास छोड़ दिया इतने में भेड़िया आकर उसे खा गया हम लोग अगर सच्चे भी हो मगर आपको तो हमारी बात का यक़ीन आने का नहीं

उसने उनकी ओर से मुख फेर लिया और कहने लगा हाय अफ़सोस यूसुफ़ की जुदाई पर और ग़म के मारे उसकी आँखें सफ़ेद पड़ गई और वह घुटा जा रहा था
Jacob turned away from them saying Alas Joseph is lost He wept continuously in his grief until in suppressing his anger his eyes turned white
