Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented? But if not for the decisive word, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.
(क्या उन्हें समझ नहीं) या उनके कुछ ऐसे (ठहराए हुए) साझीदार है, जिन्होंन उनके लिए कोई ऐसा धर्म निर्धारित कर दिया है जिसकी अनुज्ञा अल्लाह ने नहीं दी? यदि फ़ैसले की बात निश्चित न हो गई होती तो उनके बीच फ़ैसला हो चुका होता। निश्चय ही ज़ालिमों के लिए दुखद यातना है

क्या उन लोगों के (बनाए हुए) ऐसे शरीक हैं जिन्होंने उनके लिए ऐसा दीन मुक़र्रर किया है जिसकी ख़ुदा ने इजाज़त नहीं दी और अगर फ़ैसले (के दिन) का वायदा न होता तो उनमें यक़ीनी अब तक फैसला हो चुका होता और ज़ालिमों के वास्ते ज़रूर दर्दनाक अज़ाब है
Or have they taken guardians besides Him? But Allah is the Guardian, and He gives life to the dead, and He has power over all things.
(क्या उन्होंने अल्लाह से हटकर दूसरे सहायक बना लिए है,) या उन्होंने उससे हटकर दूसरे संरक्षक बना रखे है? संरक्षक तो अल्लाह ही है। वही मुर्दों को जीवित करता है और उसे हर चीज़ की सामर्थ्य प्राप्त है

क्या उन लोगों ने ख़ुदा के सिवा (दूसरे) कारसाज़ बनाए हैं तो कारसाज़ बस ख़ुदा ही है और वही मुर्दों को ज़िन्दा करेगा और वही हर चीज़ पर क़ुदरत रखता है
Or have they taken protectors [ or allies ] besides him? But Allah - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
(क्या उन्होंने अल्लाह से हटकर दूसरे सहायक बना लिए है,) या उन्होंने उससे हटकर दूसरे संरक्षक बना रखे है? संरक्षक तो अल्लाह ही है। वही मुर्दों को जीवित करता है और उसे हर चीज़ की सामर्थ्य प्राप्त है

क्या उन लोगों ने ख़ुदा के सिवा (दूसरे) कारसाज़ बनाए हैं तो कारसाज़ बस ख़ुदा ही है और वही मुर्दों को ज़िन्दा करेगा और वही हर चीज़ पर क़ुदरत रखता है
Or like a rainstorm from the sky, in which are darkness, thunder and lightning; they thrust their fingers in their ears due to the thunderclaps, fearing death; and Allah has the disbelievers encompassed.
या (उनकी मिसाल ऐसी है) जैसे आकाश से वर्षा हो रही हो जिसके साथ अँधेरे हों और गरज और चमक भी हो, वे बिजली की कड़क के कारण मृत्यु के भय से अपने कानों में उँगलियाँ दे ले रहे हों-और अल्लाह ने तो इनकार करनेवालों को घेर रखा हैं
Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal, for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the unbelievers.
या (उनकी मिसाल ऐसी है) जैसे आकाश से वर्षा हो रही हो जिसके साथ अँधेरे हों और गरज और चमक भी हो, वे बिजली की कड़क के कारण मृत्यु के भय से अपने कानों में उँगलियाँ दे ले रहे हों-और अल्लाह ने तो इनकार करनेवालों को घेर रखा हैं
Or until you cause the sky to fall in fragments upon us, just as you have averred. Or until you bring Allah and the angels [ right ] in front of us.
या आकाश को टुकड़े-टुकड़े करके हम पर गिरा दो जैसा कि तुम्हारा दावा है, या अल्लाह और फ़रिश्तों ही को हमारे समझ ले आओ,
Or until you cause the sky to fall in fragments upon us, just as you have averred. Or until you bring Allah and the angels [ right ] in front of us.
या जैसा तुम गुमान रखते थे हम पर आसमान ही को टुकड़े (टुकड़े) करके गिराओ या ख़ुदा और फरिश्तों को (अपने क़ौल की तस्दीक़) में हमारे सामने (गवाही में ला खड़ा कर दिया
